Seller:starotron(1,549)98.7%, Location:Durham, North Carolina, Ships to: US, Item:223185423556Relisted because of nonpayment. Vintage German field binoculars - I have had these in my possession for a long time, yet have little knowledge to what actual time period they belong. I have taken photos of all stamps on these, which are Hensoldt Wetzlar and Dienstglas 6 x 30 with serial number '8639'. The lenses are all intact and the binoculars function as they should. However, the body is peeling/flaking in areas and has some patina as shown. Case is in solid shape, and has no markings that I can tell. Both straps are functional, but have wear expected from the age. ANY questions at all, feel free to message me. Thanks for looking! On Oct-01-18 at 18:04:03 PDT, seller added the following information: Another member asked these questions, and here's my responses:Are the binos: 1) In collimation: both optical prisms properly aligned so you see the object focused on as one without getting a headache. The best way to check alignment is to focus the binos on a distant, perfectly flat object such as a rooftop. Still looking through the binos, slowly move them away from your face until the view splits into separate images. If the line remains straight, the glass is properly aligned. If the line is higher on one side and or breaks or bends, the binos are out of collimation. 2) When you look through the binos the wrong way into a light (big end to small end) do you see any haze, fungus, dirt, chips, cracks, lens separation etc.3) Do they have a reticle: small interior black lines (used for range estimation) seen when looking through them? 4) Do the adjustment knobs work properly and turn freely and consistently without excessive difficulty or ease? Thanks! On Oct-03-18 at 07:23:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Have been trying to get the answers to these questions posted, but having issues. 1. Yes2. No3. No4. Jul 11, 2009 In that spirit, here is a set of E. Leitz, Wetzlar 6x30 Dienstglas binos with the H/6400 markings. Aluminum objective, leather grip, and bakelite eyecups. (one of which is cracked, anyone have a replacement set?) Great optics, Lietz has a longtime reputation for quality optics. I've got the same pair and the serial number is about 17,000. Carl Zeiss serial numbers. From Camera-wiki.org. Jump to: navigation, search. The serial number of a Zeiss Triotar 7.5cm f/4.5. Carl Zeiss Oberkochen. Part of the serial number sequence of lenses made by Zeiss after World War II at Oberkochen/ West Germany Serial nº.

A MONOCULAR is one-half of a Binocular. Inscribed on the piece it reads: Dienstglas 6 x 30 (Serial #) 116797 rln (and a) triangle. This is a 'RIGHT OCCULAR' designed to be held in the right hand and sited using the right eye. T were left occulars made as well. This piece can be dated by its Serial number and the fact that it's black lacquered.
